Coaching announcement
We are pleased to announce that Matt Varnes will the leading the team into the 2026/27 season as Head Coach.

Matt graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a Bachelor of Physical Education along with an education degree and is currently a teacher and instructor at Churchill Hockey Academy since 2018. Matt is an alumnus of our program and was a Twin in the MMJHL from 2007 – 2011. He also played professionally in Kemi, Finland and Knoxville, Tennessee. After playing, he continued to share his love for the game by coaching and developing young athletes. Matt has coached in several different programs including both male and female high school hockey, Max Hockey and Bar Down Hockey Academy. Matt is passionate about the growth and development of all young hockey players and continues to develop and expand his own knowledge of the game.

All Star Game
Drew Russell, Matt Lizotte & David Balshaw were the team representatives at the 2025/26 MMJHL All-Star game played February 8 2026.
Alumni game 2026
Alumni game was played Sunday February 1 at Hockey for All Centre featuring players from the 1997-2025 eras.
